Sidra Khan

Literary Editor

Sidra (she/her) is in her final year of studies in the Rhetoric, Media, and Professional Communication Program at the University of Waterloo. She is extremely passionate about human rights issues that focus on women’s rights, protection from torture, and racial and religious minorities.

She joined The Matchstick to contribute her editing skills and literary acumen to develop a network of  global solidarity for any individual who is denied their fundamental rights. Sidra believes activism as intimately tied to freedom of expression; therefore, she believes that art and activism go hand in hand. With life experiences in both the East and the West, Sidra brings an open mind and a unique personal perspective to The Matchstick. When she is not writing, Sidra tries to catch compelling Netflix series, go for hikes and coffee runs with friends, or listen to her favourite Dua Lipa hits!
