Noor Anwar (she/her) is a Vancouver-based editor and content-marketer with an interest in the art of rhetoric. She believes that literature and resistance exist in a symbiotic relationship; the emergence of one influences the other. As a Literary Editor for The Matchstick, she hopes to contribute her skills to uplift voices that reflect this concept. Noor also stands as a dedicated advocate for the abolition of the death penalty as well as torture of incarcerated individuals in Canada. Although her strongest art form is writing, she appreciates all forms of artistry. An artist that she recommends is Omar Gilani, a Pakistani engineer-turned-new-media-illustrator who fuses his South Asian heritage with science fiction through virtual reality.
